OK so I see in the notes that it appears I should be selecting the BF-F8HP in the drop down, so I did that. But it still does not communicate with the GT-3 radio. Chirp says the radio does not respond. And I do have a good USB cable that I ordered (rather than the fake one I had before) and it makes no difference. The cable works with my UV5R radios and the BF-F8HP radios I have so I know it's a good USB cable.

Yes, I did try that, but it doesn't work. It says "radio did not respond."

This still isn't working. I'm trying to program a GT-3 MarkII radio using a great USB cable that DOES work with my UV5R radios. I'm running a Mac with OSX 10.10.5 and the latest Chirp build. I plug the cable into the Mac, then to the radio, then turn the radio on, then hit "download from radio" and always get the "Radio did not respond" message.

Jim, thanks. None of that helps, but I resolved the issue on my own. Basically, the first time I hit "download from radio" it gave the same "Radio did not respond error." However, if I tried a second time, it WOULD then download from the radio. I was then able to upload my program to the radio. I do not know why this worked, but it worked EVERY time in EXACTLY the same way. And I just finished programming twelve GT-3 Mark 2 radios, two GT-3 Mark 3 radios and four BF-F8HP radios ... 18 radios and they communicated the same way. I do not remember when I programmed my seven UV-5R radios if they behaved this way.
