Description

When I check the busy channel lockout button on the software for a UV-5R it does not turn menu option 23 (BCL) to yes in the radio.

Reading briefly online on this issue, it appears that this option is meant to be tied to the actual channel itself, as opposed to the radio, am I just misunderstanding how to enable BCL per channel?

In summary the following happens when I turn lockout on:

  1. turn it on via chirp
  2. write changes to radio
  3. open menu options and verify option is set to off, and does not work

Image included which was used testing, I put in a various mix of UHF and VHF public channels to test in case it was just a quirk with one band.

The BCL in settings is just for the VFO, IIRC. Right-click->properties on a channel or View->Extra fields will show the per-channel toggle, which is what you're looking for.

Yep! that did it, didn't see a wiki explaining how to do it, if there is a way for me to make wikis I would be happy to type up a quick guide so others know as well!

Well, it differs by radio and chirp supports a lot of them :)
